I am excited to serve as Acting Director for the McMaster Institute of Health Equity for 2021/22!
I truly believe in the Institute’s mission: together we can better understand the underlying pathways that influence patterns of health inequity in our society. I am passionate about the interdisciplinary spirit of the Institute. We need wide spanning collaborations and unique perspectives to find holistic solutions to health disparities.
I come to this position from a Sociological background and hold a Canadian Research Chair in Mental Health and Work-Life Transitions. I am excited to develop the mental health focus of the Institute, and working with leading membership to create the foundation for other core themes of concentration.
We plan to have a variety of engaging events this year to highlight important research on health equity from external academics, as well as our own members. We will be in touch soon with details.
